Seattle Prefab Addition

This Seattle prefab addition was a combination of a turn-of-the-century home and a backyard business structure that is of modern styling. It carries elements from both structures, and the two designs are perfectly blended into a beautifully landscaped backyard. The prefab house addition is 16’x13’ with a bathroom and the space was built atop a full foundation with 10’ walls. The roof was carried over from the original home with the swale on the truss tails. Further features included on the prefab room addition include rain screen siding, concrete lap siding, and Corten corrugated accents to the exterior for greater protection and aesthetic appeal.

To further display the luxury that prefab additions can provide, the inside has cork flooring and tile in the bathroom. The interior also features exposed glulam beams, LED lighting, and a custom-built Murphy bed and desk unit. Regarding utilities for this fine new addition, Moen fixtures were used in the shower and the sink. Prefabricated construction has come a long way from the days of mass production and pure utility. Today, prefabricated additions and homes are just as high quality as traditional home-building techniques and far more environmentally beneficial to boot.
